Gen 31:32 With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.

Laban, Jocab’s father in law, was very upset about his household gods that’s being stolen. Jacob has no clue that it is his wife who stole it. Rachel sits upon it and play the game of innocence.

Jacob, already upset by this time, actually I would say furious because of ill-treatment, being treated unfairly, cheated and so forth, just could not stand another accusation.

He utters the words: ‘with whomsoever thou findest they gods, let him NOT LIVE’. The Scripture makes it very clear right after those words, that Jacob did not know it was Rachel, because then he would not have uttered those words!!!

Words have power. He said that, that person should die. What happened to Rachel, she died a premature death. She died during labour.

Gen 35:17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
Gen 35:18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin.
Gen 35:19 And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.

You are the prophet of your own life.

Amen!
